selena gomez cries, Selena Gomez wears her heart on her sleeve, onstage and off. The 21-year-old pop princess got emotional—and even cried!—while performing a song about her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber.
The singer took her Stars Dance world tour to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Wednesday, Oct. 16. While there, Gomez performed a touching ballad titled "Love Will Remember." Before the song began, however, she talked to her fans about love and loss. "Everyone in this room, I have those bad days," she said. "And I understand when you guys just don't feel like it's enough and you just want to get back to when you were a kid again, and it was so simple, and just one thing that you want."
Gomez got teary-eyed mid-song, as she's been known to do during past concerts.
Post-concert, Gomez used Instagram to explain why she got so emotional. "Never ended such a beautiful show in tears because they wouldn't allow me to Instagram tonight. Completely heart broken and pissed," she wrote. "Thank you SO much Brooklyn. Ill be stopping outside Letterman tomorrow to make it up to you if you can make it. I love you guys more than you know. Promise."
The leaked demo of "Love Will Remember" featured a voicemail that Bieber left for his former love; the recording was cut from the album version of the track. Gomez hasn't officially confirmed that the song is about the 19-year-old Canuck, but she's certainly hinted at it.
"Obviously, 'Love Will Remember' is a personal song to me and I don't really need to say anything. I think my fans will get it," she told InStyle in June. "I think people will figure it out themselves."
"That's the most personal track on the record, for sure," she added. "I think it's a sweet way of releasing it. It's not an aggressive approach to what people are probably expecting…I'm sure he'll love it, too."
