Carrie underwood grand ole opry 2008, Carrie Underwood will mark five years as a Grand Ole Opry member next month, closing the June 7 edition of the Nashville-based live radio show with a performance.

"Throughout the past five years, Carrie Underwood has become both a certified country music superstar and a beloved member of the Opry family," Opry vice president and general manager Pete Fisher said via a press release. "It's been exciting to see Carrie experience career success after success, all the while returning often to the Opry stage to thrill audiences here."

The American Idol winner joined the Opry May 10, 2008, following an invitation from Randy Travis that March. Fellow Oklahoman Garth Brooks inducted her into the cast, telling her, "You will be rained with awards from the CMA, the ACMs, Grammys, all that stuff — nothing will last as long or be more important than this award right here tonight."

That night, Underwood thanked the Opry "for having me as part of your family, because it really seems like a great family to be a part of. … It means a lot to me, and I promise I'll do everything I possibly can to make you not regret it."

While tickets to the show already are available, special ticket packages that include "fan zone" seating and an exclusive five-year-anniversary T-shirt will go on sale Monday via the Opry website.

Two days before her Opry appearance, Nashville's Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will open its "Carrie Underwood: The Blown Away Tour" exhibition.
